Face it & pace it
The twin flame journey may seem to start as a sprint. You meet, it's intense, it's the most amazing connection, and you want to spend every possible minute together, making up for what feels like lost time. It's not lost. Nothing is lost on this journey. Every step of the way is an opportunity to learn something about yourself, and learning to understand yourself is the most important tool you have to live your love and your life to their full potential.
If you're reading this, it's likely that you suspect or know you're a twin flame. And it's likely that you are facing a challenge in your twin flame relationship. The challenges are inevitable; it's an integral part of the process because they are guideposts to show you where you can grow and heal. The challenges are significant, but they don't last forever, and there are ways to work through them more effectively.
Twin flame relationship work is essentially personal development work, and can often be similar to trauma healing work. Twin flames will trigger each other more than non-twin partners. It's not avoidable because it's the point. Twin flames have a deep, abiding, transcendant connection that cannot be broken by things that break up many non-twin couples. It will be tested, and those tests will show you where you have psychological wounds or imbalances to heal.
(Along the way, however, it is important to know that authentic twin flame relationships are never abusive. If there are abusive elements in your relationship, it is likely a karmic relationship and may or may not be part of the path to later meeting a twin flame.)
Naturally, we want this healing to happen as fast as possible, to get through the pain of separation and to the bliss of union.
But as with trauma work, digging too deep into our psyches too fast is likely to backfire. True healing and growth requires a delicate balance of honestly and directly facing our own issues - many of which we don't even know are there until we meet our twin! - while pacing ourselves so that we are not too destabilized by what comes to the surface in the process.
Figuring out a sustainable pace for our shadow work and healing depends on many factors. As with any healing path, it is essential to have support along the way. Depending on our circumstances, we may turn to psychologists, religious leaders, family and/or friends. These can be important pillars in our lives, and we encourage you to draw on all the sources of support that feel healthy to you. These general supports, however, will not be familiar with the particularities and phases of twin flame relationships.
That is where is helps to connect with other twin flames. You will likely read articles, books, and social media posts. At some point, you may also want to speak live with someone who can help you figure out your particular situation. We would be honored to help you work through your questions and use our tools to help you find your answers at a healthy, personalized pace. To move forward, book a call with us today.
